Political Consulting
WrightPath Solutions is a leading, award-winning Ohio political consulting firm with over 26 years of experience helping lead campaigns from city council to Congress. Founded by Brian Wright — whose career began on a major Ohio gubernatorial campaign — WrightPath has earned multiple AAPC Pollie Awards. Brian is credited with helping build Ohio’s first Democratic SuperPAC and has helped many candidates win races that others said couldn’t be won. We serve Cleveland, Columbus, and communities statewide.
Running for office takes courage. Winning takes strategy…and in Ohio politics — where every district has its own personality, its own power brokers, and its own landmines — strategy means having someone in your corner who’s been through the fight before.
What does a general political consultant do in Ohio?
A General Consultant manages the strategy and execution behind a campaign — from launch through Election Day. In Ohio, that means understanding district-level voter data, navigating county party dynamics, building coalitions across diverse communities, and deploying resources through the right channels at the right time.
At WrightPath, we don’t hand you a template and check in once a week. We’re in the war room with you.
Campaign strategy and management. We build the plan and manage its execution — voter targeting, timeline, budget, field operations, digital infrastructure. The whole machine, built for your specific race.
Message development and research. We develop the messages that move voters. Not the ones that sound good in a conference room — the ones that actually change minds at the doorstep, in the mailbox, and in the feed. We test them, refine them, and deploy them where they’ll hit hardest.
Media — all of it. Television, radio, digital, pre-roll video, direct mail, social media. We have a national network of award-winning production and media buying partners. In our experience, the campaigns that win aren’t the ones that spend the most — they’re the ones that integrate every channel into a cohesive message.
Phones, texts, hybrid events and virtual town halls. We’re plugged into the most powerful live calling, automated, SMS/MMS, and telephone town hall systems in the country. We’ve turned custom phone strategies into tens of thousands of calls to elected officials and hundreds of thousands of votes. Our virtual town hall events give candidates an unprecedented opportunity to interact with an unlimited audience.
Opposition research and rapid response. When the other side comes at you — and they will — we’re ready. We prepare for attacks before they happen and respond fast when they land.
How much does a political consultant cost in Ohio?
Political consulting costs vary significantly based on the level of office, the competitiveness of the race, and the scope of services. In our experience, general consulting for a political campaign starts at $5,000 per month and increases based on the scope and time commitment of the effort. Although we are great at hitting the ground running, it is always best to engage a consultant as early as possible to avoid costly and potentially harmful mistakes.
What makes WrightPath different from other Ohio political consultants?
Nationally recognized. Multiple national awards for innovative campaign approaches. Our team member’s work has earned national recognition for more than 17-years.
Results that are hard to argue with. We’ve led campaigns where candidates earned 84.6% endorsement rates and forced both opponents to drop out before Election Day. Our president was responsible for executing Ohio’s first Democratic SuperPAC and had it producing ads within 48 hours of go — a speed that stunned even the opposition. As Former House Speaker Bill Batchelder put it: “How did they file on a Thursday and have fully produced political ads just two days later?”
26+ years of professional Ohio political experience. We know the districts, the donors, the dynamics, and the data — from Cuyahoga County to the Statehouse. This isn’t something you can learn from a national playbook. Ohio races have their own rules.
Full-service, not fragmented. You don’t need five vendors who don’t talk to each other. WrightPath integrates strategy, messaging, media and digital into one cohesive effort with one team that’s been working together for over a decade. When the recipe is good, you don’t change it.
Political consultants aren’t just for candidates
We work with donors, advocacy organizations, PACs, and political entities who need strategic guidance on deploying resources effectively. If you have a political goal — whether that’s electing a candidate, passing a levy, defeating a ballot measure, or building long-term political infrastructure — we can help you build the path to get there.
Who this is for
We serve candidates running for office at any level in Ohio — from city council and school board to statewide and congressional races. We also work with political organizations and PACs planning independent expenditure campaigns, issue campaigns seeking voter approval on ballot measures, levies, or referenda, and elected officials preparing for re-election or managing between-cycle strategy.
Ready to Run
Whether you’re a first-time candidate or a seasoned official planning your next move, the first conversation costs you nothing — and it might change everything.
Frequently asked questions about political consulting
When should I hire a political consultant? As early as possible. In our experience, the candidates who win competitive Ohio races start building strategy 6–12 months before Election Day. If you’re already collecting signatures or filing paperwork, you should already have a consultant. The most expensive mistake in Ohio politics isn’t hiring a consultant — it’s hiring one too late to fix the problems created by not having one.
What’s the difference between a political consultant and a campaign manager? A campaign manager handles day-to-day operations — scheduling, volunteer coordination, event logistics. A political consultant develops the overarching strategy — messaging, targeting, media, and resource allocation. Some campaigns need both. At WrightPath, we provide strategic consulting and can also serve as full campaign managers depending on the race and your needs.
Do you only work with Democratic candidates? WrightPath’s experience and relationships are strongest in Democratic and progressive campaigns across Ohio. We believe in the candidates and causes we work with — that alignment produces better strategy and more committed partnership.
Can you help with fundraising? Yes. We advise on fundraising strategy, help build donor outreach plans, integrate fundraising with overall campaign messaging, and connect candidates with fundraising platforms and infrastructure. For donors looking to give strategically rather than candidates looking to raise, see our Donor Advising services.
What Ohio regions do you cover? We work statewide, with deep experience in Cuyahoga County (Cleveland), Franklin County (Columbus), Summit County (Akron), and surrounding communities. Our Cleveland and Columbus offices support campaigns anywhere in Ohio.
